Dismissing rumors that his company is on the cusp of buying EMC Corp., Cisco CEO John Chambers said in an interview on CNBC that the networking giant will continue to focus on acquisitions of easily integrated small- and medium-size companies while partnering with larger players such as EMC or Microsoft.
This has been Cisco’s modus operandi for as long as I can remember, so Chambers is effectively saying that nothing in the current market environment has triggered a change in the company’s acquisition playbook.
